So apparently my teeth are really tight and close together so there’s barely any room to move. In order to make room for the bands to be put on my molars they had to put in spacers. So on Tuesday of last week, I go to the orthodontist so that I can get my spacers put in. Basically they’re these tiny little rubber bands, no more than 1mm thick, that goes between my back two molars, I get two in each quadrant. The process went by pretty quickly, it wasn’t painful or anything. It just felt like they were gonna pull out my crowns as they were trying to floss the spacers in. So I get back to the office and eat my lunch. It feels pretty normal except for the feeling of having something constantly stuck inbetween my teeth. It all feels pretty normal….until I woke up the next day. I felt like my mouth was hit with a cannon ball. Even taking a breath in hurts…I didn’t expect that. I made an egg muffin for breakfast that morning and I could barely chew it down…I pretty much just had to swallow the whole thing. Of course I wasn’t prepared for this so for lunch I had to run out and get soup. Boy I had a lot of soup for the last few days! It was soup for lunch, soup for dinner…good thing I like soup! My thoughts were, if spacers hurt this much, how the hell am i going to get thru the actual braces??? Well, I’ll know soon enough!
